1964 revolution

Being born in 1907, he would be used to certain things and almost Victorian etiquette. In the mid 60's there was a revolution going on in music, sex and sexuality (amongst many others) meaning that he probably felt quite alien in this world and that he didn't belong in this kind of environment anymore.

9 Essential Stanislavskian Questions.

Who Am I?
DOB: 12/07/1907 (age 57).
Nationality: British Caucasian.
Family: Wife, 1 Son, 1 Step Son, 2 Step Daughter.
Place of Birth: Dorset.
Job: Accountant.
Drink of choice: Glenfiddich Whiskey.
Political/ Religious: British Traditional Values, Nominal CofE.

Where Am I?
It is a London theatre. A wooden internal with wooden stage, the floor is dusty as is the air. There is no windows, the inside of the theatre is cold and musky. It is dark and dingy and smells damp, the acoustics are not brilliant and it has dull sound. It has an old feel to it, but a positive theatrical vibe to it. The ceiling is high and ornately decorated with depictions from the Bible.

What Time Is It?
It is late afternoon in winter, so is cold and dark. It is 1964, England.

What Is My Relationship?
My relationship varies from person to person, I wouldn't say that I have a particularly positive relationship with anyone, though it ranges from utter contempt to mere indifference. I also think him to be particularly manipulative coercing those such as the director to perform the play he wants. He gets on poorly with every member of his family including most notably his Step Daughter, who he says has trapped him in this shameful moment for eternity, and to contain him in this moment of Pillory.  He also has a particularly strained relationship with his wife which probably stems back the day he palmed her off onto his secretary.

What Surrounds Me?
There is an old piano where the 3rd oct A and 5th oct G keys are broken. There is a wooden folding table behind which are three seats all wooden slatted with red cushions. Two of these chairs are placed upstage divided by a guilded throne.

What Are My Given Circumstances?
I have been created and given life by an author, who after seeing me alive as I am, decided against putting my experiences onto a stage. This has caused me and my family to walk the earth indefinately
in search of an author, so as to fulfil our lives purpose of having our story told on a stage and to be eternalised in a work rather than outside of one.

What Is My Objective?
My objective is to get my play performed on a stage and to get my life eternalised in a published work so as to fulfil my life's purpose.

How Will I Achieve This?
I believe that the character achieves this by trying to manipulate and coerce the director into writing his play and performing it, preferably he wants to play his own part and have the others portray theirs. He also wants to protect his innocence and he moral superiority by publicly refuting all slander lain against him.

What Is In My Way?
My own big ego is probably in the way, that linked with my utter perfectionism. The fact that I need to find someone willing to do this play is an obstacle, as I need someone's help to achieve my catharsis. Another big obstacle for me is the behaviour of my family, especially that of my daughter, which makes it near impossible to keep anyone on my side long enough to transcribe my play.

Initial Response.

I had not heard of the play before, however I was certainly pleased to be working with Jack and the proficient cast with which I am performing. I also please do discover my role in the play as I believe it to be one, into which I can dig my teeth. The first thing that I did to discover more about the play was to ask my mother and grandmother their knowledge of the piece, I received a lengthy introduction, one for which I was not prepared. I understood that it was primarily about the meaning and reality and of existence. I also discovered it was effectively a play within a play, sought of an existential Inception. The next thing I did was to read the play, something I found very enjoyable, if, a little confusing.
